A BIG Celebration at the Houston Dynamo Game!

(Saturday, September 24th, 2016) As a donor-supported volunteer organization, Big Brothers Big Sisters relies on individual volunteers, companies, and community partners to fulfill our mission of serving children facing adversity with strong and enduring professionally supported one-to-one mentoring that changes their lives for the better, forever. Big Brothers Big Sisters had the opportunity to thank the 2016 Partner of the Year winners at the Houston Dynamo game! Over 50 matches came out to cheer on our award winners and help us accept a $10,000 check from the Houston Dynamo from their recent DynaBowl event along with a $25,000 check from Jack in the Box.Attendees got to meet a few of the players after the game. Thank you to BBBS Board Member Travis Watkins and the Houston Dynamo for their great support.

Community Partner of the Year: Houston Symphony

Houston Symphony is a huge hit for our matches! Thanks to their support in providing dozens of complimentary tickets to our Bigs and Littles throughout the year, more children have the opportunity to experience the Symphony and gain a greater appreciation for the arts.In addition to tickets, Houston Symphony provides once-in-a-lifetime educational experiences such as getting a private backstage tour at the Houston Pops Concert, a private meeting with the English Horn musician, and a meet and greet with the Conductor. In 2015,the Houston Symphony sponsored Big Brothers Big Sisters’ Unmatched Littles Holiday Party by donating tickets to our unmatched littles and their families for the holiday performance, parking, and space at Jones Hall for the party. Houston Symphony volunteers supported the event with holiday crafts and musicians from the Houston Symphony surprised guests with a private performance and an up-close encounter with the instruments.

Corporate Partner of the Year: Audi Central Houston
