BRIGHT REALTY GOLF CLASSIC ANNOUNCES FORMAT AND VENUE CHANGE
Competitive Event Presented by American Airlines Center Added at The Lakes at Castle Hills
Annually rated as one of the Top 10 Charity Golf Events in the DFW Metroplex by the Dallas Business Journal, the 45th Annual Bright Realty Golf Classic and Bright Realty Corporate Championship presented by American Airlines Center announces a new tournament format and new venue for 2012.
For the first time ever, Bright Realty and Big Brothers Big Sisters will be offering a new tournament option for our competitive golf community. Presented by the American Airlines Center, a two-man best ball format strictly following USGA rules will help decide the corporate champion and is aimed at serious golfers only. No handicaps or mulligans – this event strives to find the best of the best among local amateur golfers. The long-standing Classic event will remain as a second option for all those who enjoy the same fun shotgun scramble the event was founded upon. This event is for all skill levels with fun games and mulligans galore.
The Bright Realty Golf Classic and Bright Realty Corporate Championship presented by American Airlines Center also announced that tournament events will move to the newly renovated Lakes at Castle Hills. Now a semi-private retreat, the Lakes at Castle Hills is headquarters for Hank Haney Golf Schools and the site of the Hank Haney Golf Academy. The Jay Morrish designed course was extensively renovated last summer and features new Mini-Verde greens that will host the 2012 Bright Realty Texas State Open.
All proceeds from the May 21, 2012 Bright Realty Golf Classic and Bright Realty Corporate Championship presented by American Airlines Center will directly benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters. In 2011, the event raised in excess of $285,000 for the children of North Texas helping take 570 children off the waiting list and into caring mentor relationships.
Chris Bright, founder of Bright Realty commented, “We are thrilled to continue our investment in the children of North Texas through Big Brothers Big Sisters and this signature golf event. Big Brothers Big Sisters plays a life-changing role in the lives of children, helping them create a confident, goal-oriented future. “
Championship golfers will tee-off Monday, May 21, for an 8 a.m. start and Classic golfers will have a 2 p.m. shotgun start at The Lakes at Castle Hills. Sponsors for this year’s event include Bright Realty, Cool River Café, FastSigns and Centennial Fine Wine and Spirits. Big Brothers Big Sisters is a donor-supported youth mentoring organization that places caring adults in the lives of children in one-to-one mentoring relationships. Through the positive impact of those friendships, children with a Big Brother or Big Sister are more likely to graduate from high school and less likely to begin using drugs, begin using alcohol or engage in negative behavior.
