Be a Tutor and Make a Difference

College graduates have the opportunity to give a year and change a life by working as a math or reading fellow in one of HISD's ambitious Apollo 20 turnaround schools. HISD is hiring math and reading fellows now. This is an exciting opportunity for recent college graduates and other college graduates looking to enter the field of education. Math and reading fellows tutor students in small groups in an effort to help them meet and exceed state standards. The program strongly encourages graduates from all majors to apply and is requiring a commitment through May 2012 with the potential to continue the following school year. The position is ideal for those interested in education as well as those looking for a service experience before pursuing further studies or a career outside of education.
