You’ve been thinking about getting involved. Now you know how easy it is and how much your help is needed. Why not apply to be a Big today?

We’re always looking for people eager to positively impact a child and improve their community at the same time. And, right now is no different. Big Brothers are in high demand. So, Start Something.

For a few hours, a couple times a month, you can give a Little the invaluable gift of your friendship. By simply changing their perspective of what the world can offer, you can literally start changing their lives. And sometimes it’s as simple as playing video games, going to a museum, or just hanging out together.  Learn more about our programs. 

1. Complete and return an application. Return your completed application by email to volunteer@bbbstx.org or by mail to: Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star - Corporate Office, 450 E. John Carpenter Frwy, Irving, Texas 75062.

2. Call us. Give one of our Customer Service Representatives a call at 888.887.BIGS during regular business hours. They'll answer any questions you have as well as take your information in order to schedule an interview.

And when it’s time to make a match we’ll help you meet a Little in your area who shares your interests — and we’ll support you all the way. We’ll even give you some great ideas for activities that other Bigs and Littles have enjoyed through the years!

3. Complete our convenient online inquiry form. Start by entering your zip code at the top of this page.  After you complete a short form online, a Big Brothers Big Sisters staff member will contact you. You’ll need to: provide two references, participate in an in-person interview and have a background check performed.

Why do we need Big Brothers?
More than 70 percent of our children waiting for a Big are boys, but only 3 out of every 10 inquiries to volunteer come from men. Research shows that having the positive influence of a Big Brother makes a real difference in a boy's life. So join the hundreds of thousands of volunteers that give a young person someone to look up to. And learn why so many are now saying, “I get back so much more than I give.”

A call to men of color.
Disproportionately the children we serve and those waiting to be matched are African-American and Hispanic boys.  Their parents seek our support, knowing a Big Brother can recognize their son's potential and model positive choices that put him on the path for success in and out of school.
