Our Programs

Great times for a great cause

Enjoy a magical evening featuring luxurious dining, live entertainment, fabulous live and silent auctions, and so much more!

The Big Black Tie Ball: An Evening of Masterpieces celebrates the children who transform into great works of art through the power of positive mentoring. The inspiration, dedication and guidance shared through these mentoring relationships are the elements that allow each child to realize the greatest vision of success for themselves. Come celebrate with Big Brothers Big Sisters our most treasured works of art – our children.  The evening will feature a reception, luxurious seated dinner, live & silent auction and entertainment by Trey & the Tritones.

The funds raised will directly benefit the more than 4,000 children currently waiting for a Big Brother or a Big Sister.  Each $1,000 raised will remove one child from our waiting list and match them to a mentor for an entire year who will enrich, empower and encourage them to reach their highest potential.

2012 Featured Artist
Lezlee Liljenberg

Lezlee Martin Liljenberg began Curves of Steel Studio in 1996.  She started her welding/metalwork career by attending classes at the Dallas Creative Arts School. There she fell in love with creating art and home accessories from found metals.  By marketing and promoting her works throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, Curves of Steel quickly outgrew her garage.  Lezlee then converted an industrial warehouse in Arlington, Texas to the home of Curves of Steel Studio.

The company offers an extensive line of home accessories, furniture and abstract art; including lamps, mirrors, candleholders, beds, wine racks and sculptures.  All of her pieces are made of metal accented with various paints, textures and metals.  The use of semi-precious stones, beads and fused glass add splashes of brilliant color to many of her designs.

Lezlee continuously experiments with various chemicals and metals to give each piece its own unique appearance.  Her art various from contemporary to eclectic and rustic to ornate.  By varying her styles and designs, Lezlee is able to provide new and exciting works for all tastes, interests and budgets.  Utilizing recycled items is one of her favorite activities, and she loves her “digging” expeditions for old and new parts which use uses to bring to life many of her whimsical creations.
