These are just a few of the ways that the Big Brothers Big Sisters Beyond School Walls^SM program helps to “Start Something” Big.  
  

How Does It Work?
Your corporation encourages 20 employees to mentor 20 students from a nearby school who will come to your corporate campus each week during the school day for about an hour. Students (Littles) are matched with employees from your company in one-to-one mentoring relationships.  A professional from Big Brothers Big Sisters manages the program onsite while Bigs and Littles play games, work on homework, tour the office or just talk and hang out.  

Beyond School Walls^SM is a version of Big Brothers Big Sisters’ classic School-Based mentoring program – except that Littles meet with their Bigs at the workplace instead of the school. Littles not only have a new adult friend and role model, but are also exposed to a positive work environment – something they may never have experienced before!    

Who’s Involved?
Your Company - in addition to the 20 mentors (“Bigs”), your company is asked to provide recruitment opportunities, meeting space for the matches, lunch and a mentoring program liaison.
A Local School - We work with guidance counselors, teachers, principals and parents at a local school; focusing on the children who can most benefit from a mentor. The thousands of children Big Brothers Big Sisters serves are challenged by social and economic circumstances beyond their control.
Big Brothers Big Sisters - Don’t recreate the wheel. We can customize the program to fit your needs. And, we know how to keep volunteers, children and your corporate reputation safe.
