Abilene Announces New President

Mark Rogers was raised in Plano, TX. He moved to Abilene in 1999 to attend Abilene Christian University and he fell in love with the area. After 17 years, he’s proud to call Abilene home.

Mark joins the Big Brothers Big Sisters team after spending six years as a development officer in the Advancement division at Abilene Christian University. In previous positions, Mark raised funds and recruited physicians at Hendrick Medical Center. He began his career as a sports broadcaster and reporter at KTXS-TV in Abilene.

Mark is eager to begin developing relationships with new and existing BBBS supporters across Abilene.

Mark explains, “I have a passion for improving the lives of those around me, especially kids, and I’m thrilled to join the BBBS family. I love fund-raising and I can’t think of a more important mission to enhance than the BBBS mission.”

Mark has been married to Jenn for 13 years and together they have three children: Haelyn (7), Hope (5), and Hunter (2).

“The board of directors is very pleased that Mark Rogers will be leading the Abilene agency. Mark’s energy is contagious. We are confident that the children of Abilene will benefit greatly from his enthusiasm and experience. BIG things are ahead for Big Brothers Big Sisters,” stated Luke Longhofer, BBBS Abilene Board Chair.
