North Texas Giving Day

September 9, 2019 September 19, 2019

Our mission at Big Brothers Big Sisters is to build and support one-to-one relationships to ignite the biggest possible futures for youth. This North Texas Giving Day, we’re asking our donors and volunteers to #GiveMoreTogether by helping us raise $200,000 to support over 100 new matches to more children across North Texas.

Every dollar up to $45,000 is fully matched this year, so now is a great opportunity to double your impact by  scheduling your gift to BBBS as early as September 9th. View and bookmark our North Texas Giving Day FUNdraising page at

Why Give on North Texas Giving Day?

Read below to see what kind of impact you can help make for our youth.

In the Fall of her freshman year, Little Sister Odalis was introduced to the Big Brothers Big Sisters mentor2.0 program. She said that her and her mentor Aimee instantly connected and she knew from the start that her new Big Sister would become one of her very best friends. Because of Aimee, Odalis has also developed an even closer relationship with her mother. The two new Sisters set a goal at their first meeting for Odalis to make straight A’s and with Aimee’s help and the support from her mentor2.0 Partnership Specialist, Odalis made straight A’s for the next three years. Throughout her high school career, Odalis was constantly motivated by Aimee to keep studying and was even encouraged by her to run for Student Council President. With the impact Aimee has had on her life, Odalis has decided she wants to one day be a mentor as well and have the same impact on someone else.

After graduating high school this past June, Odalis will now embark on a new journey as a first generation college student at the University of Houston where she will major in Marketing. Odalis is also one of four mentees that were awarded a scholarship this year through Scholarshot, which her BBBS Partnership Specialist helped secure. Odalis attributes a great deal of her success as a young adult to her Big Sister Aimee, who she says helped guide her to where she is today. Odalis and Aimee will now be a part of our BBBS Post-Secondary Success Program where they can continue their mentorship together with Big Brothers Big Sisters, through the first couple years of her college career.

We hope that you will stand with us this North Texas Giving Day on September, 19th and #GiveMoreTogether by helping us raise $200,000 which will go directly towards supporting more matches across North Texas.
