Who is Savers?
Savers is a for-profit, global thrift retailer offering quality, gently used clothing, accessories and household goods. Its business model of purchasing goods from local nonprofits, reselling and recycling gives communities a smart way to shop, supports philanthropic causes and keeps more than 650 million pounds of used goods from landfills each year.
How does the partnership with Savers benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters?
Clothing, accessories and other household items are donated on behalf of Big Brothers Big Sisters through home pick-ups or by dropping off the goods at a Savers retail store. Savers pays Big Brothers Big Sisters per pound for those items. Savers makes all investments in marketing, branding, collection and resale. Every donation is meaningful to us because those donations provide Big Brothers Big Sisters a stable income stream that enables us to better serve children facing adversity.
